Chicago, 1992. Nina Gordon e Louise Post se conheceram por acaso, descobriram que escreviam do mesmo jeito e montaram a banda. O nome vem da menina mimada de A Fantástica Fábrica de Chocolates.
Seether estourou em 1994 no rastro do rock alternativo. Em 1998 as duas romperam de forma pública e feia, e a banda seguiu só com Post.
Em 2013 voltaram com a formação original — reconciliação que ninguém esperava.
